Oil Change

Changing your engine oil is one of the most essential ways to ensure your vehicle’s continuing top health. Clean oil prevents wear on vital engine components, and keeps these most important parts lubricated so that they can efficiently do their jobs at their top potential. At 401 Dixie Kia, you’ll get the option of conventional or synthetic oil. Regular oil may be more popular and less expensive, whereas synthetic oil is chemically optimized for a better flow and longer lifespan, albeit at a more expensive price.

How Often Should You Get Your Oil Changed?

We recommend that you get your oil changed approximately every 6,000 km, but please refer to your owner’s manual for specific guidance with your particular model.

Our Engine Oil Change Service Includes:

  • Drain and recycle of your old oil
  • Installation of a new engine oil filter
  • A replenish of your crankcase with new oil
  • Lubrication of various chassis, suspension and steering components
  • Front to rear visual inspection

Transmission Fluid

Transmission fluid works to ensure that your powertrain parts work smoothly and so that it can perform at a fast-moving level. Fresh and healthy fluids prevent sludge build-up and impurities from developing.

How Often Should You Get Your Transmission Fluid Changed?

We recommend that you get your transmission fluid changed approximately every 50,000 km, but please refer to your owner’s manual for specific guidance with your particular model.

Our Transmission Fluid Change Includes:

  • Drain and recycle of your old fluid
  • Clean up any varnish or metal contaminants
  • Replenish the transmission with new oil
  • Replace the filter and gasket, when necessary

Coolant System

People often neglect the coolant system, and thus it serves as one of the leading causes of vehicle breakdown. This overheating and failure of engine components can be prevented with consistent fresh coolant that will ward off damaging heat transfer and prevent your engine from freezing in the cold or boiling over in the heat.

How Often Should You Get Your Coolant System Flushed?

There’s no hard and fast rule as to how often to get your coolant system flushed, although it should be done at least every 5 years. Please refer to your owner’s manual for specific guidance with your particular model, and be sure to get the system regularly inspected.

Our Coolant System Flush & Fill Includes:

  • pH, freezing point and air leak test to see if a flush is needed
  • Old coolant will be flushed and replaced with 8L of 50/50 distilled water/coolant mixture
  • Fan belt inspection, along with other cooling system parts (such as the thermostat)
  • Detailed inspection to see if further preventive maintenance is needed

Air Conditioning

There’s no better feeling than staying cool on a hot summer day, but consequently few worse feelings than overheating when your air conditioning doesn’t work. Your air conditioning system keeps you comfy in your vehicle on muggy days, and makes sure your windows don’t fog up thanks to the humidity.

How Often Should You Get Your Air Conditioning System Flushed?

If you notice that your air conditioning system isn’t blowing cool air as cold or as powerful as it once did, there could be something wrong with it. If you come across one of these problems, it’s time to come see us, as there could be dirt, corrosion, low refrigerant or a faulty thermostat that’s causing this.

Our Air Conditioning System Check Includes:

  • Professional inspection covering all parts
  • Refrigerant pressure check
  • Vent temperature check
  • Leak detection check
  • Written inspection report (explains work done and maintenance recommendations)
