Toronto Review – 2021 Kia Sportage
The sprightly Kia Sportage has made quite a name for itself in the past few years. As a smaller SUV in the Kia lineup, it still maintains a larger stature than subcompact models, but it’s never going to associate itself with the bulky SUVs out there. This SUV is shapely, flashy, and spry. And it gets even better in 2021. This is one fresh SUV, with a newly revised grille, plenty of family amenities, and a new technology design that caters to everyone in the whole family. Contact 401 Dixie Kia for full details on anything you read in our Toronto review. We’ll start by taking a look inside the 2021 Sportage.
Exterior – 2021 Kia Sportage
The sleek, slim profile of the new Sportage is joined by a redesigned grille. It’s a smaller, blackened version of grilles from the past and really capitalizes on the “tiger-nose” design. Sweeping wheel arches cover the 17-inch alloy wheels on the base model. They’re machine finished for a shine that satisfies. Utility is also built into the design. The base model gets LED daytime running lights, but when you shift to the SX, you’ll see the Sportage at its finest. The SX Turbo is serving Mississauga Toronto Brampton Ontario with LED front fog lights and headlights, a panoramic sunroof with a power sunshade, and 18-inch machine finished alloy wheels. It’s a gorgeous profile for the new Sportage.
Interior – 2021 Kia Sportage near Toronto
The new Sportage is serving Mississauga Toronto Brampton Ontario with a range of features that put everything in its place for the whole family. A smart power liftgate allows the whole crew to pack their gear into the Sportage in a way that’s fun and fast. 60/40 split-folding rear seats give additional versatility, as does dual-level cargo floor storage. Privacy glass allows the whole family to enjoy their ride without having to worry about prying eyes from the outside. Most enjoyably, there’s an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that gives you a full view of the rear of the Sportage. Keep an eye on the littlest ones during every trip. Leather seat trim and heated and ventilated front seats are the superstars of the day on the SX Turbo, but there are plenty more versatile features to appreciate. We love the wireless phone charger and Harman Kardon premium surround sound system as well. Throw in smart key with a push button start configuration, and you’ve got a Sportage that’s ready to go whenever you are. And it’s going to look fabulous on the go!
Mechanical – Sportage specs near Toronto
The Sportmatic shifter is standard on every trim of the Sportage and works with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Gears are smooth shifting and grasp the road ahead of you in a way that’s sure and steady. Parking sensors are all around the Sportage for a breezy parking experience. These sensors are in both the front and the rear this year for a much smoother sense of your surroundings. Smart Cruise Control is another standout mechanical feature this year. You’ll be able to handle all of those “boring” stop and go driving situations with no troubles at all. Your Sportage can maintain a safe following distance during your daily commute so that you can keep your eye and attention more on the road.
Powertrain – Sportage specs near Toronto
Two engine choices are available on the Sportage. A 2.4L 4-cylinder is rated at 181 horsepower and available on all but the SX Turbo trim. This engine combination works perfectly with the 6-speed automatic transmission with Sportmatic shifter. If you want prime power, opt for the SX Turbo. This selection nets you a 240 horsepower 2.0L turbocharged engine, and it’s by far a more powerful performance across the board. The Sportage isn’t really expected to have an extremely powerful powertrain, but that doesn’t keep it from giving you that extra power anyway. If you want something impressive, the 240 horsepower engine is your ticket to fun.
Safety – 2021 Kia Sportage dealer
Kia Drive Wise technology continues its award winning stance this year thanks to features like you’ll find on the SX Turbo. You get smooth push button start that really makes it a breeze to fire up your Sportage, but what’s more important is the suite of driver-assist features. Manning your Sportage in every area are technologies like Blind Spot Collision Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Collision Warning, and Driver Attention Warning. In recent years, we’ve learned just how vital it is for drivers to be aware of their surroundings. As Kia’s vehicles have become more intelligent, it’s easier to make sure that the driver themselves is on the job. If ever your Kia Sportage senses that you’re not paying attention, it will bring you back to attention. Just by monitoring driver performance, the Sportage becomes one of the sharpest and most intelligent SUVs on the road in terms of safety.
